Asked: How to prevent spilt ends?

My hair is super thin and I'm trying to grow it out, but when I get my split ends trimmed, by the time they're back to the length they were before they were cut the ends are dead and can't grow! Any ideas?

split ends, are caused by shampooing and brushing your hair while wet
the using blow dryers
i would braid your hair at night, so that you don't have to keep brushing to get any tangles out
and use mild shampoo like baby shampoo
and then get a good conditioner

Its best to trim but it might be too much heat from styling limit heat or use protection before heat styling

Moisturize and hydrate your hair

Try not to use too many hair styling products e.g. curling tongs, hair straighteners, dyes and sprays. These things tend to damage your hair. Trimming your hair regularly is a very good thing, but you should consider using special conditioners and shampoos. Preventing split ends are better than curing them. 🙂

Even healthy hair like mine get split ends, due to normal brushing & styling.

Hair protectant doesn't protect hair 100%. Like sunscreen, you still get sunburned. Spend 5-10 mins. trimming your hair strand per strand, section by section when the sun is shinning so you'll understand how the hair is split in several places, and not always at the end, even somewhere in the middle. Do it yourself trim, is the best. Use a 2" folding shears for trimming. Allowing healthier hair to take over. Then 2x a year, get a good trim.

You can prevent MORE splits from happening from the use of chemicals heating styling tools and eat good foods from Mother Nature.

Growing healthy hair doesn't come from a bottle or pills and hair products do not speed hair growth. Any hair oil, is another form to keep hair moisturized, nothing more. If you're in HS, your hair & nails should be growing normally, and as healthily as possible, since you're eating healthy foods. But when hair isn't growing as fast, it's because they've been tempered with: chemicals, hair straightening, etc. . .
