Asked: My hair has stopped growing. Help me?

The topic says it all. I started growing my hair out when I was 13 years old, I always kept it a few inches long. When I reached 16 or 17, my hair was about an inch below shoulder-length.

I'm 21 years old now, and my hair hasn't grown past that shoulder-length. This obviously isn't normal; people's hair doesn't just stop growing for 5 years straight.

I don't know what's happening to me or what I'm doing wrong! I do know that because my hair doesn't grow, I'm not regrowing any hair that gets pulled out, so I'm beginning to look bald/thinning, and that fact is RUINING my life.

Is it possible that I'm going bald, and that's the reason why hair isn't regrowing? I thought baldness only affected certain areas at first, not the entire head of hair. I also started when I was 16, so I'm skeptical of it being male pattern baldness. I think I'm lacking something nutritionally, because I do eat a lot of junk and was diagnosed with 'Scurvy' when I was 13 years old, so if anyone can suggest vitamins that promote hair growth, then I'd be forever in your debt.

Hair grows to a certain length and then stops. Period. In some individuals it's longer and in some it's shorter. Women's hair is normally longer than men's.

OTOH, falling hair is a symptom of scurvy, so you likely do have a problem. Try eating lots of fruits and veggies, which are a source of Vitamin C. Scurvy is caused by a shortage of that. And limit the junk foods, which have all sorts of things you don't need, like saturated fats and salt, that can contribute to other health issues (heart disease, hypertension, etc).

One preventative measure you can take is to change up your diet. Quit eating all the processed foods high in sugars, bad fats, and carbohydrates. Instead, eat a diet that includes all the food groups so that your body gets the right nutrients and vitamins. This ensures that your body stays healthy overall and that your hair stays healthy individually also. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, and make sure that you eat healthy fats, which are good for your skin and hair
