Asked: Red hair color fading extra quickly!?
Okay, basically naturally i am a dark brunette. But for the past few months i've been dying my hair this bright Rihanna red, and i'm in love with it! I NEVER bleach my hair, just my roots when they grow considering i had to bleach my whole head before using the red color. I use Pillarbox Red by Manic Panic, i absolutley LOVE the color, but it fades in about a week. I normally have to touch it up once a week to keep it from fading to a light pinkish color. But what i was wondering, is if there are any little tricks to keep the color lasting a bit longer, because a jar of manic panic where i'm living is 10 dollars, and i need two jars for my whole head. So 20 bucks on hair dye a week is a little too much for me to be spending in my opinion.
I've tried the John Freida Radiant Red, not sure if thats exactly what it's called, but you get the idea. It didn't really help prolong my red at all.

A little trick to do is to start buying conditioner and shampoo that has a color protector in it. Most shampoos and conditioners fad color faster without the protector in it.
As with above definitely use a shampoo and conditioner that is for colored hair. Make sure the ingredients don't have any kind of sulfates in them.
A good brand is Pureology.
Also, wash you rhair with cold water, and invest in a dry shampoo so that you don't have to wash your hair as often. Sounds gross, but it's actually good for your hair.
