Growing numbers of hairdressing and beauty students are showing they really are a cut above when it comes to boosting Scotland's economic fortunes. The hair and beauty industry in Scotland is reckoned to now employ nearly 16000 people across some 3300 businesses, earning some £400million each year. It all points to how trainee hairdressers and beauticians are becoming part of one of the hottest growth industries in the country. And it supports the call from Mandy Exley, Principal at Edinburgh College, that the value of hair and beauty college courses should no longer be overlooked…a call which is now being taken up by students and lecturers.
