Asked: Why did my hair become shorter when I cut my hair at every month?

My hair grows a half inch per month and six inches per year. Last year, I started cutting my hair one inch off at every month to keep my hair healthy. My hair is down to bra strap length now and my hair was down to mid back length in last fall. I noticed my hair became shorter when I cut my hair one inch off at every month. I dont like my hair now and I want my hair to grow back down to mid back length. I wont cut it again until my hair grows back and I want to know why did my hair become shorter when I cut it one inch off at every month?

You said yourself that your hair grows half an inch every month and yet you were cutting an entire inch every month. Obviously you were cutting more hair than you were growing and that's why it's short
