Asked: How can I get tight afro like curls?

I have short hair (ends at my collarbone) and I'm trying to get tight, almost afro like curls. My hair use to be natural curly & thick but since I cut my long hair & kept straightening it for the past 4 years it's not as curly as it was so it's difficult to make my hair natural curly again, my hair also got thinner. Right now I'm trying to get curls and grow it out & make it thick and healthy like it was before I started heat styling my hair. Any suggestions on what I should use to get these natural looking curls? And also to get my hair healthy, thick, & long like it used to be? I also have a sensitive scalp.

Get a perm. That's really the only way unless you have textured hair that can sprout an afro on it's own.

I would use this shampoo called 'Mane 'n' Tail' it is for horses, but it's completely safe for humans and my best friend used it and her hair has grown 5 inches since November. But, before that, I would cut your split ends.

Sounds like your hair has reached it's terminal length. Sorry. 🙁
