Asked: How to get silky shiny hair?

Seriously I hate my hair so much. It is really thick, dead, wavy, frizzy and it feels like wire! When I wash my hair I just use a normal shampoo and a conditioner. I leave the conditioner in for quite awhile and I don't wash it out completely.
Then when I get out of the shower, I let it dry by its self, no hair dryer or anything and when its half dry I put in the Rusk smoother conditioner which cost $20 and doesn't do anything.
When it's completely dry I try to straighten it with this really bad straightener (I want the 2" Chi one but I live in Australia so I don't know where to get one for cheap). But when I think it's as straight as it can get which is not straight at all) I just tie it up in a high ponytail and fix up some bits and it looks so thick it sticks out so I sleep on it and just fix it in the morning. And that's how I have my hair every day of school. I've had it down once this year and that's when I got it coloured nicely. Right now I'm blonde but before I was dark brown and before that I was bleach blonde. I can't have my natural hair colour because it is that sandy kind of blonde but a really gross version. It is like a green and grey colour and when my roots grow out it looks so gross, someone even said to me that it was green and grey.
I think frizzy hair runs in the family because my mum has complete ringlets that are frizzy, my brother has curly hair and my sister has wavy hair that's a bit fluffy.
Also I have tried the olive oil and egg mix and it didn't work. My sister also tried the yoghurt mix and it didn't work for her. So I just really want nicer hair that I can wear down so if anyone knows any home remedies that actually work please tell me! It would be much appreciated. thanks
