Asked: My natural hair color never grew back?

I used to have dark brown hair and I've stopped dying it 4 years ago and the reddish tint in my hair never went away/:
I've cut it and used several shampoos and none of them seem to bring my natural hair color back… Help?

I guess you're stuck this way.

What?! I didn't even think this could happen unless it's a health related issue which might be, I don't think that dyes would prevent your natural hair color from growing in, it doesn't. So this may be a sign of something else, no? Currently what color is your hair growth from your scalp?

Is it growing but just a different color?

But I just re-read your question, 4 years is a long time. Are you speaking of the bottom part of your hair? Because usually unless you cut most of it off you will still have some "left over" from the dye you had.

Like I bleached and colored my dark hair blonde, and lastly red. I hated all the chemical processing and decided to color my hair back to dark, it has been 2 years and I still have some traces of the reddish dye on my hair, but the top part of my hair is growing in naturally. I don't like cutting my hair so what I do is cut it out little by little, leaving some time in between for it's growth. Eventually the red will be gone as I cut it out.
