What would happen if I just put blonde dye through my hair!?

Asked: What would happen if I just put blonde dye through my hair!?

I have dirty blonde hair, all the dye that's ever been in it has grown out from two or three years ago! I don't want to put bleach through it but I do want it a little lighter ! So I was thinking just get some hair dye and whack it in? Will that work? Or will it go organe ?
