Asked: Any tips for hair growth/avoiding split ends?

My hair is very fine and very light blonde and I've been trying to grow it but I don't seem to get anywhere because a) it doesn't grow very fast, b) I seem to always get split ends or dryness and have to trim my hair meaning I make no progress!

I straighten my hair 2 or 3 times a week, wash it every 2 days and deep condition it every 2 weeks. I've never dyed my hair. It's shoulder length and I want it about 5 inches longer. I wear it tied up in a ponytail or a bun a few times a week, is this damaging?

Any ideas as to what I can do?

Well, number one tip for split ends, is to try to keep any friction away from the bottom of your hair. When friction with your hair occurs, it creates split ends.
How often do you trim your hair? i trim mine around twice a month and it grows pretty fast.
As for your hair growth, certain hair types just don't grow fast. :c

Okay first, and you will most likly hate this STOP STRAIGHTENING IT. Sorry I really did feel the need to have it in all caps. The heat is(most likly) most of the reason your hair isnt growing and is so thin/fine.
I would suggest upping the deep conditioning to about once a week, as well as considering other hair treatments(such as hair masks and hot oil treatments)

It wont be damaging if you are not tieing the stle to tight.

I hope its okay, I am going to leave you with a couple tips on growing hair:
To help you hair growth there are a few(simple) things you can do
1) stimulation(scalp massage, just flipping your head upside down)
2) Caring for it, stop damaging it(i know it can be hard) consider a weekly hair mask( if you hair is really bad consider 2 a week) deep conditioning and other hair treatments(such as hot oil.)
3) Eat healthy, be sure to get lots of protein and omega-3.
4) cut off any split ends if you havn't already.
Also, a note on the split ends-once you are have done that I suggest doing a moisture treatment quite soon after.

I've been growing my hair out for years, honestly everything I know would take hours to type out, but if you ever have any questions don't hesitate to contact me!
I'm also going to leave leave a link to my blog that is dedicated to hair and hair care, there are a few posts about hair growth and lots of different ones about treatments you can try!
Hope I helped
