Asked: Are there any hair dyes that are temporary?

So, I don't want my hair dye to last for months on end, I kind of want temporary blondes or brunettes that eventually fade and go back to my original hair color till I am REALLY ready to move to a permanent color. Is there such a thing? Or do I have to dye my hair and grow it out in a streak?

if your hair is dark and you want hi-lights, there's nothing temporary. You have to use bleach, or some kind of chemical, to lighten the hair.

As for adding color, again it depends on your original hair color. If your hair is light, temporary dyes, like the ones sold at pharmacies, will work and wash out in a few weeks. If your hair is darker, it will only work on shades darker than your original.

If you're looking to add unusual colors, try Manic Panic. There are some other colors that you can get from the drug stores in the hair coloring aisle.

You can also use Kool-Aid, but be careful you don't scold your scalp or stain your skin. That's super permanent.

I don't know much about it but you might look into henna.I have a friend that dyes his hair with it sometimes.

I know exactly what you mean. Ok so I wanted to dyemy hair brown, I used a temporary color by Natural instincts! It works great. If you have long hair though I would recommend buying two boxes. If not buy just one.It comes with a sheet on how to do it. If you don't like the color, just wash your hair multiple times. It should die out within 2 weeks or so. Hope this helps

Try wash in wash out hair dyes, you can get them for about 50p. They won't make your hair a lighter colour though as to do that you would have to bleach it which would be permanent.
