Asked: Hair loss from thinning shears?

I am a 23 year old male and I got a haircut a 3-4 months ago. My hair was probably 3 inches long at the time. I told the woman that cut my hair to thin it out slightly but she thinned out ALOT more than I asked. Now, I notice small "patches" of hair missing on my head and whenever I stand underneath a light, it looks like I have a hair loss problem (before my haircut, I never experienced this). My question is, the hair that she thin gone forever? How long will it take for my hair to grow back the way that it was?

Usually, when thinning shears were used, the first 4-6 weeks, hair will grow as normal (lengthwise) so the next time you visit, you only ask for a trim. Another 4-6 weeks, the hair will grow thicker, and that's when you'll have to get it thinned again. (If you get what I mean) so basically you have to wait about 2 – 2 1/2 months before the thinned hairs long again. (Not necessarily the way it was back then). You can talk to the hairdresser/shop about their poor service if you want something to be done with it. (Make sure you have yourreceipt – also check Consumer Guarantees Law in your country)

Yes, once you cut your hair it's gone forever. But your hair should grow an inch every month or two depending on the growth rate in your genetics. Don't sweat it, it will grow back in no time.

The hair isn't gone forever, it'll grow back. However long it takes depends on you. Peoples' hair grows at different rates. It takes a few months for my hair to grow an inch. For now, I'd buy a bunch of cute hats and beanies to cover it up. I hope your hair grows back soon! xx
