Asked: My hair isn’t culry anymore?

Im a guy, my hair was curly, when i was 13-14 yrs old i got stuck into the scene and started straightening it for about a year, stopped at like 15, 2 years later, almost 17 yrs old my hair has lost all its curls and it just goes everywhere, parts of my hair poke out, some parts dont, it has nothing to it…how do i get my normal hair back?…do i need to make it extremely short and start over so it grows naturally? Im sure straightening didn't affect the way it grows…or did it?

P.S I have had haircuts, just not ones that make my hair really really short, medium long…

It's a weird thing, but in addition to over styling, our hair changes as we age.

When I was a little kid, my hair was super curly, in my early teens it became very wavy, but not the ringlet curls i used to have. Then I had dreadlocks for 9 years, I cut them very short and as my hair has grown over the last 3 years….. It is totally different hair. The texture, thickness, curl that I had when I was younger is gone.

So, I don't know if this is what has happened to you, but there you go. You can always use some moose meant for curling hair if you can't stand it.
