Asked: Is today’s Hip Hop turning into the "Hair Metal" of the late 80’s?

I was wondering if Hip Hop is turning into this generations "Hair Metal".Don't get me wrong, I listen to all this stuff (everything from 80's hair metal to todays hip hop and pop). Here is my point:

Back in the late 80's the music industry was saturated with Hair Metal bands that produced music that was very superficial and focused on image and good looks rather than talent. That quickly died out by the early 90's as people grew tired of superficial groups produced by the music industry.Bands like Nirvana killed Hair Metal because their music focused on deep personal issues as opposed to superficial things. And they were more focused on music than vanity, image, glitz and glamor.

I notice that Hip Hop today is focusing on superficial issues in its music than it used to.Also, there is a lot more emphasis placed on image, good looks, and incorporating itself with pop singers.Hip Hop today seems to be moving towards Pop music more and more and I noticed that the industry is saturating the public with all of these types of acts.Tupac and Biggie never sang with bubble gum pop groups.Much like the late 80's there is a lot of "Glitz and Glamor" that is flooding the music industry.

Anyways, do you think that today's Hip Hop is turning into what "Hair Metal" was back in the late 80's?

Grow it out long. Natural would look best, but color wouldn't be a bad thing either.
